Which Supplements Should Not Be Taken Together: Nowadays, awareness among people regarding health and wellness has increased more than ever. This is the reason why many people have started taking supplements to fulfill the deficiency of vitamins and nutrients in their body. If you feel tired, iron tablets, zinc tablets to increase immunity and vitamin C tablets for skin have become common. But many people do not know that taking some supplements together can be harmful for the body. According to nutrition expert Amy Margulies, while taking supplements, it is very important to keep in mind the right time and combination, because some vitamins and minerals can reduce the effect of each other.
Iron and Calcium
Iron tablets are often given to overcome iron deficiency i.e. anemia. It helps in the formation of red blood cells in the body, due to which oxygen reaches the entire body in a better way. Calcium is necessary to strengthen bones and teeth. But if these two are taken together, calcium can reduce the absorption of iron in the intestines. This may reduce the effect of iron supplements and may also cause stomach related problems like constipation, gas or nausea. Therefore, doctors recommend taking them at an interval of at least two hours.

Iron and Zinc
Zinc helps strengthen the immune system and protect against infection. But by taking both iron and zinc together, they start racing with each other to be absorbed in the body. This may reduce the benefits of both the minerals and may also cause problems like stomach ache, cramps or diarrhea. Therefore, experts recommend keeping a gap of at least two hours between these two supplements.
Copper and Zinc
Copper is essential for energy production in the body, nerve health and immune system. But if zinc is taken in excess, it can hinder the absorption of copper. If this happens for a long time, it can lead to copper deficiency, which can lead to anemia, weak immunity or nerve related problems. Therefore, it is considered better to take both these supplements at different times.
