Volodymyr zelensky first reaction after Russia Ukraine Peace Talks Calls for G-7 Level New Sanctions on Russia | After Russia-Ukraine peace talks, Jailonsky made great demand, said

The Turki capital Istanbul held talks between delegation of Russia and Ukraine on Monday (June 2, 2025). This conversation started 2 hours late and this meeting did not run for an hour. During the talks, the delegation of both countries remained strict.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan presided over the peace talks at Siragan Palace in Istanbul, a residence of the Ottoman Empire. The purpose of this dialogue was to discuss the terms of the ceasefire regarding both sides.

All the efforts of US President Donald Trump have so far failed to force both sides to accept a ceasefire. Jailonsky has called for new restrictions on Russia, limiting oil trade and use of tankers.

‘If Russia does not pressurize, then Putin will continue to play the game’
According to APTN report, Ukraine’s President Volodimir Jailonsky said that if nothing comes out of this conversation, Russia needs to be imposed new restrictions, and not only from Europe. We need to work on joint restrictions at the G7 level, including everyone in the United States and the world who wants peace. He further said that without pressure, Putin will continue to play with all those who want to end this war.

What issue agreed in peace talks?
Speaking at Wilneyus, Lithuania, Jailonsky said that both sides have exchanged documents through Türkiye. We are preparing for the new release of war prisoners. During this time, the exchange of bodies of 6000 soldiers between Russia-Ukraine has also been mentioned. The release of prisoners was also agreed in the peace talks in Turki. However, no decision could be taken regarding the ceasefire. In the last conversation on May 16, 2025, the prisoners were swapped, in which 1,000 prisoners from both sides were assigned to each other.
