This time there has been heavy voting in the Bihar Assembly elections (2025). The figures that have come out after both the phases have shown that women have voted more than men. This is also believed to be one of the reasons behind the increase in vote percentage.
A total of 66.91 percent voters have used their franchise in the recently concluded assembly elections in Bihar. Assembly elections were held in two phases on Tuesday. The Election Commission gave this information. According to the data received from the Commission, 66.91 percent voting took place on a total of 243 seats in the state, in which 62.8 percent men and 71.6 percent women exercised their franchise.
8.8% more women voted than men
It has been said in the data that the participation of women in voting was high in the state and about 8.8 percent more women voted in these elections than men. According to the provisional data received from the Commission, a total of 65.08 percent voting took place in the first phase, in which the percentage of women was 69.04 and the percentage of men was 61.56.
Voting percentage increased to 68.76 percent in the second phase
It said that in the second phase the voting percentage increased to 68.76, in which the percentage of women was 74.03 and the percentage of men was 64.1. If we look at the total figures of both the phases, the voting percentage of women was 71.6, while the percentage of men was 62.8. Out of total 7,45,26,858 voters in the state, 3,51,45,791 were female and 3,93,79,366 were male voters.
This data has been released without including service voters, transgenders and postal ballots. According to the Election Commission, the official final figures will be shared later.
Political analyst Arun Kumar Pandey said, “The increasing participation of women is encouraging for democracy and reflects the political awareness of the state. Nitish Kumar’s women empowerment policies and central government schemes have inspired rural women to vote.
Bihar Assembly elections 2025 were held in two phases. Voting for 121 seats in the first phase took place on November 6 and the second phase on November 11. Counting of votes will take place on November 14.
