Protest against waqf act: Demonstrations are being organized in many states of the country against the new Waqf law. In many states including West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Mumbai, Srinagar, people of Muslim organization have come out on the streets against this law. Students of Alia University, Kolkata, took out a rally on Friday (11 April 2025) in protest against the new Waqf Act and demanded to withdraw it. Students took out marches inside the campus and raised slogans.
Waris Pathan was detained by police
According to the report of the news agency PTI, a student involved in the rally said that BJP talks about Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas, but a community is being discriminated against. Activists of Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM in Mumbai protested against the Waqf law after the prayers of Jumme. The police have detained AIMIM leader Waris Pathan and other activists who are demonstrating at Chishti Hindustani Majeed in Baykula, Mumbai. Police said that the demonstration was not allowed.

AIMIM leader Waris Pathan said, “The trustees of Baykula Mosque called us to protest against the black Waqf law brought by the Modi government. Our peaceful protest will continue throughout the country because the matter is in the Supreme Court and will be heard in the Supreme Court and there will be a hearing on April 16. We want this law to be withdrawn.”

Demonstration in Lucknow
In Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, people of the Shia community have demonstrated against the Waqf law. After the prayers of Jumme, a protest took place under the leadership of Shia Dharma Guru Kalbe Jawad. The protesting people brought a plank in the hands of the protesting, in which the slogan was written against the Waqf amendment.

PDP protested against Waqf Act in Jammu and Kashmir
In Jammu and Kashmir, PDP protested in Srinagar on Friday (11 April 2025) in Srinagar. The party accused the central government of using it to marginalize the Muslims. The practitioners also raised slogans of not accepting the Waqf Bill with placards in their hands. When the workers came out of the party office and came out to protest in the middle of the city, the police stopped them.
In Rajasthan too, a demonstration was organized outside the mosques in many places against the new Waqf law. Demonstrations were held in many places in Jaipur and a lot of slogans were raised during this period. After the prayer of Jumme outside the Quresian Mosque in Jaipur, there was a protest of the law.
