Waqf amendment bill in Lok Sabha , The Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 was introduced in the Lok Sabha today i.e. on Wednesday (April 2) by Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju. As soon as the bill was introduced in the House, the opposition started protesting about it. Meanwhile, MP Ravi Shankar Prasad told about the benefits of the Muslim community with the Waqf Amendment Bill in the House. He took the names of Shah Bano, Saira Bano to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Veer Abdul Hameed, Mohammad Shami and Sonia Mirza during the discussion.
He said that remember the decision of the Supreme Court in Shahbano’s case was made. At that time Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister of this country. Only a few rupees were given to that Muslim woman, what happened. At that time Arif Mohammad Khan was a minister in your government. His two days had a historic speech in the house that the decision of the Supreme Court is good. There was a sudden uproar Rajiv Gandhi was shaken. He was silenced. After Shahbano, Saira Bano was so much troublesome due to triple talaq, Muslim women had gone to the court. For two years, his government did not even file an answer in the Supreme Court, so that the matter remains hanging. Our government came in 2014. Modi ji made me a law minister. When the file came, he said that it has to be answered, the Supreme Court has scolded. I went to the Prime Minister, he said that go and stand outside the court that the Modi government is standing with Muslim women on triple talaq.
Every section of the community will benefit from the bill
MP Ravi Shankar Prasad said to the Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 in the Lok Sabha, “Section 15 of the Constitution has written that there will be no discrimination of women. At the same time, through this bill, all the backward classes of the Muslim community will also benefit from it. Those who we call Pasmanda Samaj, they did not get anything in the first Waqf. But now they will have any place through this bill.
He said, “If the land of Waqf is being grabbed, then something will have to be done and Waqf is not a religious institution, so if this law will have something good for the people of Jamaat today, then what is the problem.”
MP mentioned Section 25 of the Constitution
Speaking in the House, Ravi Shankar Prasad also mentioned section 25 of the Constitution. He said, “If the land of Waqf is being ruined or it is being looted, then Section 25 of the Constitution gives the right that a law can be made for this.”
370 and Caa Also mentioned
Ravi Shankar Prasad also mentioned Section 370 and CAA. He said, “From the heart these people also want something to be good, but politics is pulling them back. There was a similar opposition during Section 370, but see what is the atmosphere today. Today the tricolor is waving at Lal Chowk.
Apart from this, the same happened against CAA. After all, how far will this country go for vote bank, but now all this will not work. “
Target against opposition for majority
Ravi Shankar said about the majority on the opposition, “He has not received a majority even once after Rajiv Gandhi.” He lashed out at Akhilesh Yadav and said, “Akhilesh ji, understand, you see how many times Modi ji has got a majority. See now it is Bihar’s turn. The people of Krishachan community are also in support of it and there are many Christians in Uttar Pradesh. You are understanding.”
He said, “The Modi government says that everyone should develop with everyone. It is not that if you do not vote, then your road will not be built here. We want to develop the whole country.”
