Actually, Sanjay Kapoor made his Bollywood debut in 1995 with the film ‘Prem’. Tabu was also in this film. Both of them got into a relationship during the shooting of the film. In an old interview given to ETimes, Sanjay had told that their romance had ended even before the release of the film. In another conversation, Tabu said that when Sanjay was in a relationship with her, he was also in love with Maheep Kapoor. This thing has now surfaced again on Reddit.

In an old interview given to ETimes, Sanjay Kapoor had confessed to dating Tabu Kapoor during the shooting of his first film ‘Prem’. He had said, “Initially I was in a relationship with Tabu, but by the time the film (Prem) ended, we had stopped talking to each other. The film was released when I was 31 years old and I used to jokingly say, I am the oldest newcomer. The film Prem did not work, but within four weeks the film ‘Raja’ with Madhuri Dixit was released and it became a blockbuster.
Sanjay Kapoor cheating on Tabu for Maheep?
According to reports from portals like Bollywood Hungama, many people in Bollywood were hopeful that Sanjay and Tabu would get married. However, they broke up because Sanjay allegedly cheated on Tabu for Maheep Kapoor. According to Bollywood Hungama, Tabu had said in an old interview, “Even when we were together, he was meeting Maheep.” Eventually Sanjay Kapoor married Maheep.
Sanjay- Maheep got married after one night stand
In 2024, Maheep Kapoor had recalled her love story with Sanjay Kapoor on Raunak Rajani’s show, saying, “Our story was very simple, I had a one night stand relationship with a man, and I never knew that I was going to marry him. You guys must be knowing my family, Anil, Sunita, Sri (Sridevi). I was very drunk at that time.”
Maheep further said, “He still accepted me and said, ‘Wow, what a wonderful future daughter-in-law.’ He welcomed me with open heart. There was no marriage proposal etc. here. We were in ‘The 1900s’ (nightclub). We were drunk and partying. He said, ‘Okay, we are getting married.’ So, between shots of tequila I said, ‘Okay, no problem.’ that was it.” Maheep also told that before marriage, she had dated Sanjay for five years, and now she has been with him for more than 30 years.
