Spin all-rounder Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the New Zealand ODI series. He was injured while bowling in the first ODI played in Vadodara. BCCI has announced Sundar’s replacement. In his place, Ayush Badoni, who plays domestic cricket for Delhi, has been included in the team. Badoni has been selected in the national team for the first time.

Spin all-rounder Washington Sundar complained of severe pain in the lower part of his left rib while bowling during the first ODI against New Zealand on Sunday. Now they will be scanned. After this the BCCI medical team will take expert opinion.
BCCI issued a press release saying that Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the remaining two matches of the New Zealand ODI series. The men’s selection committee has included Ayush Badoni in the team in his place. Badoni will join the team at the venue of the second ODI i.e. Rajkot.
26 year old Ayush Badoni has played 27 List A matches so far. During this period, he has scored 693 runs at an average of 36.47 with one century and five half-centuries. Along with explosive batting in the middle order, he can also do spin bowling. He has 18 wickets in his name in the list. Badoni plays for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL. Badoni has played 56 matches in IPL so far. During this period he has scored 963 runs and taken 4 wickets. In IPL, he got a chance to bowl only in seven innings.
