Whenever there is talk of pollution in India, the first name that comes to people’s lips is Delhi. But on Thursday (January 29), a very shocking news of pollution came out from Mumbai, due to which the players had to wear masks on the field in the Ranji match. This incident was seen in the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BCK) of Mumbai amid the ongoing match between Mumbai and Delhi.
It was told that in the last session of the first day of the match, the players were forced to field wearing masks due to dust pollution due to the ongoing construction work near the ground. The picture of players wearing masks quickly went viral on social media, due to which the issue heated up and came into the public eye.
People wore masks even in the dressing room
Not only the players fielding on the field needed masks, but the support staff sitting in the dressing room were also seen using masks to keep themselves safe. It was told that the players played the match wearing masks for about 30 minutes.
Mumbai players wearing masks during a Ranji Trophy match isn’t the image anyone wants to see.
Construction near the BKC venue in Mumbai led to a spike in pollution, forcing Sarfaraz Khan and others to take precautions while fielding against Delhi.

Complaint to MCA
In this matter, the Mumbai Cricket Team wrote a letter to the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) saying that in view of the pollution, talks should be taken with the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB), so that the construction work going on near the stadium can be controlled. Let us tell you that it is very rare in Mumbai that any game gets disrupted due to pollution.
