Shreyas Iyer got injured while taking a catch in the third ODI against Australia, although it can be called the best catch of this series so far. In the third ODI, Australia, batting first, scored 236 runs in 46.4 overs. The big question is whether Iyer will be able to come to his position to bat?
Shreyas Iyer got injured in the 34th over, when Alex Carey tried to hit a big shot on the fourth ball of the over and the ball went high. Shreyas Iyer took a surprising catch while running backwards from backward point. But while falling he got hurt on his stomach. He immediately lay down on the field, he was in pain and then the physio came to the field and Iyer went out of the field.

Shreyas Iyer is the vice-captain in this series. When he got injured, he was in the role of captain, because the main captain Shubman Gill was out of the field. As soon as Iyer went out, Gill came inside. In the second ODI, Iyer played a good inning of 61 runs, although in the first match he was out after scoring 11 runs.
Shreyas Iyer bats at number four. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill open and Virat Kohli bats at number three. How serious is Iyer’s injury at the time of writing? There has been no official update regarding this. It remains to be seen whether Iyer comes to play in his batting order or someone else comes to bat before him.
India got the target of 237 to win
Batting first, Australia had a good start, Mitchell Marsh scored 41, Matt Short scored 30 and then Matt Renshaw scored 56 runs. Australia’s fourth wicket fell at 183 and then the entire team was all out within 53 runs. Harshit Rana took maximum 4 wickets for India. However, Australia is maintaining an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
