US President Donald Trump has once again praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi openly. He made this statement during the Gaza Peace Summit held in Egypt, in which Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif was also present.

Trump said in his address, “India is a great country, with my very good friend at the helm. He has done a wonderful job.” After this, he expressed confidence in the relations between India and Pakistan and said, “I think India and Pakistan will live together very well now.” Trump looked at Sharif smilingly and asked, “Right?” To which Sharif smiled and nodded.

In his statement before the Gaza Summit, Shahbaz Sharif had given credit to Trump for stopping the war between India and Pakistan. In this context, Trump claimed that he had threatened to impose tariffs up to 200% to avoid war between India and Pakistan.

What did Trump say?

Trump had said, “I said if you two want to go to war and you have nuclear weapons, I will tax you both 100%, 150%, 200%. He said no, no, don’t do that and I resolved the matter in 24 hours.” However, India has already clarified that any ceasefire or ceasefire decision was taken with mutual consent by both the countries and not with the interference of any third country.

Shahbaz Sharif again demands Nobel for Trump

Shahbaz Sharif reiterated his demand to give Nobel Peace Prize to Trump for stopping the war. He said, “The contribution of Trump and his team to establishing peace between India and Pakistan is extraordinary.” In fact, Pakistan had earlier also nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for Diplomatic Intervention and Leadership. However, this award for 2026 went to Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado.
