Now in the beginning of 2026, the Australian team has reached Pakistan tour for T20 series.

The video of Australia team reaching Pakistan is becoming increasingly viral on social media. Seeing this video, people were reminded of the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus.

Story of terrorist attack on Sri Lankan bus
In 2009, a two-match Test series was being played between Sri Lanka and Pakistan on Pakistani soil. There was a terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus during the second Test of the ongoing series in Lahore. The visiting team was going from the hotel to Gaddafi Stadium for the third day of the match. Then many masked terrorists attacked the team.
Many Sri Lankan players were injured in the attack. Names like Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkara, Ajantha Mendis and Chaminda Vaas were included in the list of injured players. It was fortunate that the Sri Lankan player did not die. In the same attack, 8 people including 6 personnel of Pakistan Police lost their lives.
