Water production: Water is the essence of life. The Earth is also submerged in about 70% of the water. There is about 1.38 billion liters of water on Earth. But more than 97% of this water falls in the sea and oceans. This part contains saline water which is not drinkable. The rest of the sweet water is two and a half percent on the Earth. Two -thirds of it has also been deposited in the glacier. Now because there is so much lack of water, it is justified to come to mind that why not mix hydrogen and oxygen and make water. Let’s know if it is possible or not.
Water making science
The chemical formula of water is H2O. That is, every molecule consists of two hydrogen atoms associated with one oxygen atom. But hydrogen and oxygen are not in the form of single atom in the air. They are in the form of H2 and O2 molecules. To make water, first of all these molecules have to be broken into different atom. Only then will two hydrogen atom and one oxygen atom be connected.
Hydrogen is the simplest element, it has only one electron. But the outer shell of oxygen has six electrons, and there are two low to complete. Let us tell you that when electrons of hydrogen and oxygen connect together and make water, then a lot of energy comes out. It is not an easy response, it can also explode.
What is the danger behind this?
Actually, getting hydrogen and oxygen can be very dangerous. Hydrogen burns a lot and provokes oxygen fire. Even a small spark can turn into an explosion. To handle this reaction requires quite advanced lab and accurate knowledge. Therefore, it is not right for everyday use.
But even if it is possible to handle this reaction, it will be much more expensive to make water in this way. A lot of resources and safety related things will be needed to meet the water needs of the world by forming water from gas. Also, even if water is formed by this process, it will not be safe to drink, because it is cautiously purified and mineralized before drinking.
