Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Wednesday (23 July 2025) that his country is ready for a meaningful dialogue with India to resolve all pending issues. Shahbaz Sharif made this comment during a conversation with Jane Marriott, a British High Commissioner. Marriott met Shahbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s residence. Both discussed the regional status of South Asia and West Asia along with bilateral relations.
Pakistan wants to interact with India
Shahbaz Sharif appreciated Britain’s role in reducing tension during the Pakistan-India deadlock and reiterated that Pakistan is ready for a meaningful dialogue with India on all pending issues. However, India says that it will only hold any talks with Pakistan on the issues of terrorism and the return of Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (POK).
India responded to Pak after Pahalgam terror attack
India started Operation Sindoor on May 7 in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, under which terrorist infrastructure was targeted in Pakistan -controlled areas. After the Pahalgam terror attack, India also suspended the 1960 Indus Water Treaty. Until Pakistan stops supporting terrorism across the border, the Indus agreement will remain suspended.
India lashed Pakistan in UNSC
Through Operation Sindoor, India exposed Pakistan’s refugees, Pakistan. In a meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), India described Pakistan as immersed in bigotry and terrorism. Describing Pakistan as a continuous debt -taking country, India said that countries promoting terrorism across the border should be forced to pay serious prices.
The US has recently banned Pakistani terrorist organization The Resistance Front (TRF). Three days after the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April, India gave adequate evidence to the US to give TRF the status of terrorist organization.
