Rahul Gandhi on Caste Census: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi welcomed the decision on behalf of the central government to conduct caste census in the country. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said, “We have support to the government in designing the caste census. This requires better blue prints. We will design it. We have two examples of Bihar and Telangana, which makes the difference of sky and land. The government should tell the ways of caste census.” He asked that the government should tell the date when caste census will take place.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said, “In Parliament we had said that we will leave the caste census. The walls of 50 percent will also be broken. I do not know what happened, suddenly after 11 years, the caste census has been announced after 11 years.” He said that we will also pressurize the BJP that the cap of 50 percent reservation should also be broken.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said, “Whether it is OBC, Dalit or Adivasi, how much participation they have in the country will only be known by caste census, but we have to go further. We have to find out how much these people have participation in the institutions and power structure of the country.”
Reservation should be applicable in private institutions: Rahul Gandhi
Rahul Gandhi said, “The Congress party wrote in its manifesto that reservation should be implemented in private educational institutions under Article 15 (5) and our demand is that the government should implement it immediately.
