The weather is going to change again from North India to Eastern India. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert regarding the weather before Holi. According to the department, 24 hours before Holi and on the day of Holi (4 March 2026), heavy rain and storm may occur in many states. During this period, there is a possibility of wind blowing at a speed of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour. At some places the wind speed can reach 40 kilometers per hour.
The Meteorological Department says that the maximum temperature in the plains of North-West India may increase by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in the next 5 days. The temperature in Central India will also increase by 2 to 4 degrees in the next 5 days. In Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha, there may be an increase of 2 to 3 degrees in 3 days.
In which part of the country snow can fall
Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh may receive light to moderate rain with thunderstorms on March 3. There is a possibility of rain and snowfall at some places in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh between March 4 and 8. There may be light rain in Himachal Pradesh on 7th and 8th March and in Uttarakhand on 8th March. Heavy rain and strong wind are expected in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh on March 3. Winds can blow at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour in Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha on March 3.
Weather conditions of Delhi-Bihar
The weather will be normal in Delhi on Holi. Wind can blow at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour. You will feel slight cold in the morning and the temperature will increase in the afternoon. There is no warning of rain in Delhi on March 3. The maximum temperature can be around 31 degrees and the minimum temperature can be 17 degrees. There may be light drizzle in the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh on March 4, due to which the temperature may drop by 1 to 2 degrees. There is a possibility of light rain in Gorakhpur, Deoria, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Azamgarh and Mirzapur. Heat may increase in many districts of western and central UP. The maximum temperature in Lucknow can be 32 degrees and the minimum can be 16 degrees. The weather will be clear in Bihar on the day of Holi. There is no possibility of rain, but the temperature may increase in some districts. There are chances of increase in heat in Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga and surrounding districts.
Weather conditions in hilly areas
The weather will be clear in Uttarakhand on the day of Holi, but rain may start from March 8. The maximum temperature in Dehradun on March 3 is expected to be 26 degrees and the minimum temperature will be 12 degrees. The weather will be clear on the day of Holi in Himachal Pradesh. There is a possibility of rain on 7 and 8 March. The maximum temperature in Manali can be 5 degrees and the minimum can be minus 6 degrees. There may be rain in some districts of Jammu and Kashmir on the day of Holi. The temperature is also increasing at many places.
How will the weather be in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan?
There is no possibility of rain on Holi in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, but in many districts the temperature may increase by 3 to 4 degrees. The maximum temperature can go up to 33 degrees in Bhopal and 33 degrees in Jaipur. In the last 24 hours, the temperature in many parts of Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Odisha remained between 34 to 37 degrees. Temperatures ranging from 32 to 35 degrees were recorded in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. In many states the minimum temperature has been between 10 to 15 degrees.
