In the last week of November, cold has knocked across the country. The mercury is continuously falling in the plains of North India, while there is a possibility of rain in many southern states. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a new update for many states including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar apart from the capital Delhi.
The cold will increase further in Delhi from today i.e. Sunday (23 November). There will be light fog in the morning, but as the weather improves during the day, the sun will come out. It will be cold in the morning and night. The maximum temperature can go up to 26 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature can go up to 11 degrees Celsius. Wind speed can be 10-15 km per hour.
Fog and cold in UP
The weather is changing again in Uttar Pradesh. Meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh said that the decline in temperature that has started in the state due to the effect of cold westerly and north-westerly winds may increase further in the coming days. He said that due to the absence of any active weather system in the state, the effect of cold winds is visible. There is every possibility of a gradual drop in the minimum temperature by 2-3 degrees Celsius within the next 4 to 5 days. The weather in the state may remain completely dry on 23 November.
During this period, there is a possibility of moderate fog at some places in both the parts. Moderate fog has been recorded in Aligarh, Agra, Kanpur and Amethi. There was light fog in Ayodhya, Kushinagar, Varanasi, Azamgarh and Gorakhpur. Light fog has also been recorded in the capital Lucknow in the morning with visibility of about 800 meters.
The Meteorological Department has advised people to be careful while leaving their homes in the morning and to drive slowly during fog. Due to cold winds, the chill in the morning and evening is likely to increase in the state for the next few days.
Temperature will drop in Bihar
Cold has slowly started showing its effect in Bihar adjacent to UP. According to IMD, now there are chances of the temperature going down further. This week people are going to feel more cold. Apart from this, fog has also started in many areas of North Bihar. A minimum visibility of 800 meters was recorded in Purnia in the morning. Patna-based Meteorological Center says that from today the night temperature in most of the districts of Bihar may decrease by 2 to 4 degrees.
Snowfall continues in Himachal
Talking about Himachal Pradesh, cold and snowfall continues in Manali. The temperature may drop up to 2 degrees. According to IMD, the maximum temperature can be 16 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature can be 2 degrees Celsius.
