Weather Update: Severe cold has knocked in Delhi, dense fog will haunt for two days, know what will be the level of pollution.

Now the real effect of winter is visible in Delhi. Due to the icy winds coming from the north-western direction, the night temperature has dropped by more than three degrees. People are feeling severe cold in the morning and night. Cold winds have made Delhi’s winter more intense.

According to the Meteorological Department, on Friday (December 26), the maximum temperature of the capital is likely to be between 21 to 23 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be between 7 to 9 degrees. The minimum temperature recorded in Delhi on Thursday was 6.5 degrees, which is about one degree less than normal. Due to increasing cold at night, people were seen resorting to warm clothes.

Dense fog will remain for two days

The weather department has also warned about fog for the next two days. It is estimated that light to moderate fog may prevail in most areas of Delhi. There is a possibility of reduced visibility especially in the morning, due to which road and rail traffic may be affected.

There will be light clouds during the day

However, the situation is a little relieved during the day. The Meteorological Department says that there may be light clouds during the day, but there is also a possibility of bright sunshine. For this reason the maximum temperature still remains above normal. Due to sunshine in the afternoon, the effect of cold is felt less.

Along with winter, there is good news about Delhi’s air as well. A decrease in pollution levels has been recorded in the capital for the second consecutive day. There has been improvement in air quality due to strong sunlight and wind throughout the day. At present the AQI has been recorded at 286, which falls in the poor category, but the situation is better than before.

However, the Air Quality Early Warning System says that if the wind speed decreases, the pollution level may again fall into the very poor category in the next 24 hours. According to the India Meteorological Department, the pollution level may increase once again with the change in weather.
