West Bengal cadre IPS Praveen Kumar gets command of BSF, ITBP also gets new Director General

The Union Home Ministry has appointed new Directors General of Border Security Force (BSF) and Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). IPS Praveen Kumar of West Bengal cadre has been made the new Director General of BSF, while IPS Shatrujit Kapoor of Haryana cadre has been given the responsibility of ITBP.

Praveen Kumar is a 1993 batch IPS officer.

Praveen Kumar is a 1993 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of West Bengal cadre. IPS Praveen Kumar was earlier working as Director General (DG) of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). During this period, he also held the additional charge of Director General of Border Security Force (BSF). During his 32 years of service, he has held various important positions in both his West Bengal cadre and the Intelligence Bureau (IB). At the same time, now the Union Home Ministry has appointed him as the full Director General of Border Security Force (BSF).
