West Bengal Governor Cv Ananda Bose Arrives in Malda Meet People in Refugee Camp after Fleeing Murshidabad Violence

Cv ananda bose visit Malda: West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose reached Malda, bypassing the request of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The Governor will meet the victims who run away from Murshidabad violence here. He said, “I am going there to meet the victims and to confirm the reports received from the area. I will go to hospitals, houses of the victims and relief camps. The central force and state police are together and the situation will soon become normal.”

Governors will meet people living in camps

Governor CV Anand Bose said that he will listen to the complaints of the people living in the camps, understand their needs and then take appropriate action. According to a senior Raj Bhavan official, the governors can personally carry forward their visit to Murshidabad to assess the situation.

Local people ran away from home to save their lives

Violence erupted in Shamsherganj, Sati, Dhulian and Jangipur, Muslim -majority areas of Murssherganj, Suti, Dhulian and Jangipur, during the protest against the Waqf (Amendment) Act, in which the three people lost their lives. Many local residents left their homes to save their lives and took refuge in camps set up in the neighboring Malda district.

Paramilitary forces have been deployed along with the state police in the riot affected areas of Murshidabad, from where 274 people have been arrested so far for alleged involvement in the riots. Meanwhile, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) also sent a team to Malda district to investigate the situation after the violence in Murshidabad district.

CM Mamta appealed to postpone the tour of Murshidabad

On Thursday (17 April 2025), West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee requested Governor CV Anand Bose to postpone the proposed tour of the violence affected Murshidabad district. He had said, “I will appeal to the Governor to wait a few more days as measures are being taken to restore trust.” However, the governor said that he will definitely visit Murshidabad.
