On Monday (March 02, 2026), Union Minister Chirag Paswan held a meeting with his party leaders in Patna regarding the elections to be held on five Rajya Sabha seats of Bihar. On this occasion, Chirag Paswan while talking to the media said that this meeting has been held only regarding the Rajya Sabha elections. Our 19 MLAs will also have an important role. Elections are also near. The process is slowly starting, hence everyone has been called and further strategy has been prepared.
Chirag Paswan said that all five MPs will be from NDA. Which party they belong to is a matter later. He also said, “People are saying that there is no problem in the four… I say that there is no doubt in the fifth too. The way I have experienced and the way Rajya Sabha elections have been held in Bihar… it is certain that we have the majority to make all five MPs win.”
‘Make efforts but defeat is certain like the assembly’
On this question that Tejashwi Yadav is also thinking of going to Rajya Sabha. Responding to this, Chirag Paswan said that this is a good thing, try, but like the Assembly, his defeat in this too is certain. Now it has to be seen what reaction comes from RJD on this statement of Chirag. Let us tell you that in the 2025 assembly elections, RJD was limited to only 25 seats.
Chirag Paswan was asked that Jamadars and Dafadars are being beaten on the streets. You also tweeted. On this he said, “Not only the tweet, I have also had a conversation. I am constantly talking to Samrat Choudhary. This issue is also known to the Chief Minister. We will ensure that no one snatches away the rights of the Chowkidar-Dafadar. I have put forward the manner in which lathicharges were used that day in strong words before the government. In a democracy, everyone has the right to protest, express their views. Just as we respect our soldiers who are working at the border. If we go to the root of the reason behind keeping us safe, it is these watchmen who work to keep the village safe.”
He said that all the people in the administration will also be questioned and answered. Not fulfilling the demands is part of the process, we will get it done but this kind of behavior is not appropriate.
