Muskaan, accused in the famous ‘Neela Drum’ murder case of Meerut, has named her newborn daughter ‘Radha’. Meanwhile, her in-laws have demanded a DNA test of the girl. Officials gave this information on Wednesday (26 November).
Muskaan is accused of killing her husband Saurabh Rajput along with her friend Sahil. She was pregnant at the time of her arrest. According to the police, both the accused had put the body in a blue drum and filled it with cement.
Gave birth to a daughter on her husband’s birthday
The girl was born at Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College on Monday (24 November). Let us tell you that this day was also Saurabh’s birthday. Dr. Shagun, head of the gynecology department of the hospital, said that Muskaan will be sent back to the district jail on Wednesday (26 November).
Senior Jail Superintendent of Chaudhary Charan Singh District Jail, Dr. Veeresh Raj Sharma told ‘PTI-Bhasha’ that according to the jail rules, the girl can stay in the women’s barrack with her mother till the age of six years. The jail administration will provide clothes, utensils, extra food and medical facilities to the girl.
What did Saurabh Rajput’s family say on the birth of a baby girl?
Meanwhile, Saurabh’s brother Rahul said that he had earlier also demanded a DNA test and now he will file a fresh application in the court for this. He alleged that Muskaan, along with her lover Sahil Shukla, murdered Saurabh and hid his body in a blue drum filled with cement.
Rahul also demanded DNA test of Muskaan’s elder daughter. He said that if it is proved that both the children belong to Saurabh then the Rajput family will take responsibility of both the children, otherwise they will not have any relation with Muskaan or the newborn baby.
Accusations of harming the child
He also alleged that Muskaan ‘has a very strong mind’ and can harm the child. Saurabh’s mother Renu Rajput also demanded a DNA test from the administration and said that if the child is proved to be Saurabh’s then the family is ready to adopt her, otherwise no one will maintain any relation.
There are allegations that Muskaan had planned such that her delivery would coincide with Saurabh’s birthday, but hospital officials said that these allegations are baseless. Dr Shagun said, “The expected date of delivery is only an estimate and only a small percentage of women deliver on that date.”
Jail officials told that Muskaan had decided that if she had a son, she would name him Krishna. According to the case registered with the police, Muskaan Rastogi, resident of Indira Nagar of Brahmapuri police station area, along with her lover Sahil Shukla, had murdered her husband Saurabh Rajput on March 3, 2025.
