India-Turkey Trade Relationship: There have been strong bilateral trade relations between India and Türkiye so far. However, during the ‘Operation Sindoor’, India’s trade with Türkiye, who landed in support of Pakistan, has now been questioned. Even though there is an atmosphere of uncertainty between the two countries and the diplomatic level at the diplomatic level, India’s trade with Turkey remains significant, including exports of US $ 5.2 billion between April 2024 and February 2025 and imports of US $ 2.84 billion.
Both these countries export different types of things to each other on a large scale. India with an estimated 1.46 billion population in the year 2025 is still not so rich in terms of natural resources, so things like oil and gas have to be imported only by importing it from other countries. Now let’s see what the two countries buy and sell from each other.
What does India buy from Turki
- Mineral fuel, oil, distillation products
- Electric and electronics machines, nuclear reactors, boilers
- Inorgenic Chemicals, Precious Metal Compounds, Isotope
- Salt, sulfur, gypsum, lime, cement, iron and steel
- Animal Aurwegitalies Oil, Fat
- Many types of fruits and vegetables
Turks buy all these things from India
- Organic chemicals
- Machines, nuclear reactors, boilers
- Other vehicles except railway and tram
- Mineral fuel, oil
- Electronic machines
- Colors
This shows that business relations between India-Turkias are strong, but now there are cracks in it due to a mistake in Turkey. Now it has to be seen further how the two meet each other’s energy and industrial needs.
