Earlier on IPL tickets used to be 28% GST, but now IPL will apply 40% GST from 2026. If the price of an IPL ticket is considered Rs 1,000 without any tax. Then the price of this ticket on 28 percent GST used to be Rs 1,280. At the same time, according to this, the price of an IPL ticket will be Rs 1,400 due to 40 percent GST.
RCB, CSK or Mi whose ticket is more expensive?
In the IPL, the price of tickets in the IPL decides themselves, in which the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) does not interfere. So far, Royal Challengers Bangalore tickets are the most expensive sold in the IPL. The price of RCB tickets has crossed the Rs 50,000 figure. In 2024, the price of a ticket went up to Rs 55,000, while in 2026 this figure can reach Rs 60,000.
GST reform impacts on IPL
The GST reform may affect the IPL for some time, but in this league, more rhetoric sponsorship deals, TV rights and line streaming on social media platforms than these tickets.
