What will happen if it rains in Mumbai-Punjab match?

Qualifier of IPL 2025-2 will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The possibility of rain in this match is very low. But if the qualifier-2 played between Mumbai and Punjab is washed away in the rain, according to the IPL rules, the team will enter the finals, which was ahead in the points table in league matches. If seen, the Punjab team topped the points table with 19 points, while Mumbai’s team stood fourth with 16 points. In such a situation, if the match is canceled due to rain, then the Punjab team will reach the final without playing the game.

Extra Time for Qualifier-2

In the match between Mumbai and Punjab, if the rain hinders only for some time, then some extra time is kept in the IPL for playoff matches. Even if the qualifier-2 starts late, the extra 120 minutes i.e. 2 hours can be available to complete the match. But if the match is completely washed away in the rain, then no reserve day has been kept available.

When and where will Qualifier-2?

The qualifier of IPL 2025-2 will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad at 7:30 pm on 1 June. After this, the final match of IPL on June 3 will also be held in this stadium. The final of the IPL was first kept at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. But due to tension between Bhakat-Pakistan, it has been shifted to Ahmedabad.
