CAT (Common Admission Test) is one of the most prestigious entrance exams of India, after passing which the candidate gets admission in courses like MBA/PGDM in 1000+ business schools including IIMs, the largest and most prestigious management (MBA) education institutes in India. CAT (Common Admission Test) exam is held at the national level. It is taken every year by IIMs. Every year about 2-3 lakh candidates appear for this exam and only 10 percent of them are able to pass. CAT (Common Admission Test) exam evaluates the candidate in every way. Considering the importance of this examination, candidates should not make many mistakes during preparation due to which they may not get selected.
These mistakes should not be made even by mistake before giving the exam.
Do not give too many mock tests in the last week: A common mistake that candidates make is that when it is the last days or weeks of CAT exam, students give as many mock tests as possible, which should not be done. Instead of giving more mock tests, the candidate should analyze them by giving a few mock tests and pay more attention to his weak topics.
New topics should not be read: Candidates should not study new topics in the few weeks or days before the exam. Rather, you should read or practice your already prepared topics. Reading new topics at the last moment creates confusion in the mind of the candidate.
Lack of sleep: Candidates often make the mistake of increasing their study hours and reducing their sleep hours, which leads to mental fatigue and stress.
Postponing Revision: Do not skip regular revision to concentrate on mock tests. Revision further strengthens your prepared topics, which you remember for a long time.

Giving mock test without timer: CAT is a time-bound exam. Therefore, just solving the question is not enough. Many students give mocks without timing, whereas in the real exam, time becomes the biggest challenge.
Stuck in tough questions: It is wrong to get stuck on any one difficult topic or question in the last days of CAT exam, because in the last days the candidate has limited time.
Working less hard on one subject of the entrance exam: It is mandatory to cross the sectional cut-off in top MBA colleges. Skipping the weak sections completely is a big mistake, which can make it difficult to clear your cut-off.
Bad Strategy: To crack every entrance exam, a precise strategy is needed that how many hours the candidate has to study, which topics have to be studied carefully, which topics are not very important, which section in the exam has to be attempted first etc.
