The Government of India is rapidly expanding the green fuel policy by promoting ethanol mixed petrol. The government is being extended to E20 (20% ethanol) in petrol pumps across the country. That is, this is a mixture in which petrol is being filled in vehicles by mixing with ethanol. In such a situation, the concern of the people has increased, people say that increasing the amount of ethanol affects the mileage of vehicles, especially in old vehicles. In such a situation, let us know which petrol is good for your car and whether the engine of the ethanol gets damaged?

Which fuel is better

The best petrol for the vehicle is that designed for your vehicle engine. In general, the quality of petrol depends on the octane rating. For most trains, regular petrol with 91 octane rating works well. But if your car is a performance oriented car, then a fuel with an octane rating of 93 or more will be better.

What causes vehicles damage due to ethanol mixture

Now the question is whether ethanol is harming the engine of mixed petrol vehicles, so let us tell you that till some time ago, 10 percent of Ethanol was being added to normal petrol, but the government in India has promoted ethenol mixed petrol for the environment, but many people are concerned about it. Ethanol mixed petrol such as E10 (10% ethanol and 90% petrol), is safe for most modern trains. But now the E20 (20% ethanol) mixture is being applied. On which some vehicle owners have expressed concern. He says that this can have a serious impact on the engine, mileage and performance of their vehicles, especially on the old vehicles. To which the central government has replied.

What did the ministry say

The Ministry of Petroleum said that these concerns are devoid of scientific basis. The test conducted by international and Indian institutions has not found any serious impact on the performance, power or mileage of the engine. However, there is a slight decline in mileage due to reduced energy density of ethanol compared to regular petrol, which can be cured by better engine tuning. Please tell that ethanol is eco friendly. It emits less carbon monoxide than ordinary petrol.
