What are the rules of ICC?
There is no ICC rule on how many overs a team can bat in Test cricket. The longest and oldest format of cricket is Test cricket and it is played for five days. In this, a team can bat as long as it wants or until all its batsmen are out. This is a special feature of Test cricket which makes red ball cricket different from white ball cricket.
If we look at the rules of a test match, it is mandatory to bowl 90 overs in a day. There are three sessions in a day and the rule is to bowl about 30 overs in each session. Although as per the rules at least 90 overs have to be bowled in a day, but there is no limit for bowling more overs. In an entire Test match, at least 450 overs have to be bowled within five days, but more overs can also be bowled. Many times, due to bad weather or rain, there are not 90 overs in a day and then a match of more than 90 overs is played the next day.

1- At least 90 overs
There is a rule to bowl at least 90 overs every day in a Test match. If the game is interrupted due to rain or any other reason, the overs may also be reduced.
2- Over-rate rule
ICC has recently changed the over-rate rule to speed up the game. Now a stop clock of 90 seconds has been implemented between one over and another.
3- Follow-on
If the team batting first has gained a big lead of 200 runs over the other team, then it can make it bat again. This is called follow-on.
4- Announcement
A captain can declare to end his innings even if all his batsmen are not out. This is called declaration.
