What is wrong if India attacks Bahawalpur, Muridke? Sitting in Lyari, Pakistani Maulana raised questions on Munir

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, a big face of Pakistan’s politics and President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazal), has shown a mirror to Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir. He has said that when you can justify it by attacking the bases of your enemies, then how did India go wrong when it destroyed the bases of those who attacked its own people.

On December 21, at the Tahafuz Deeniya Madaris Conference in Lyari, Karachi, he spoke on India and Afghanistan and asked questions to Army Chief Asim Munir. He said, ‘My question is, if you say that we have struck the Markaz of our enemy and you call it a justified statement. So if India tells you that I have attacked in Bahawalpur, I have attacked in Muridke and I have attacked the Markaz of those who took action against us in Kashmir, then why are you objecting to that.

Fazlur Rehman said that if you are objecting then this is your allegation against Afghanistan. How are you creating conflict between the two? If you justify your action on Afghanistan and if you say so, then how will you call India’s action wrong?

He said that when you bomb Kabul, it is like someone bombing your Islamabad. Raising questions on Pakistani Army, he said that how can Taliban tolerate bombing of Kabul.

On Asim Munir’s policy regarding Afghanistan, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that Pakistan wants an Afghanistan which is pro-Pakistan, but the government of Afghanistan from Zahir Shah to Ashraf Ghani is pro India, not pro Pakistan. This has been happening continuously.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that we should talk about the Afghan policy of 78 years. Pakistan has never had a friendly government in Afghanistan, could this be a failure of our own policy? He said that if we create a story, we will definitely blame the other side, but we should also look at ourselves and ask whether our Afghan policy has failed. This should be a matter of debate.

Fazlur Rehman has asked these questions regarding the military conflict with India in May. After the Pahalgam terrorist attack of 22 April, India had launched Operation Sindoor against the terrorist organizations present in Pakistan. By launching the operation on the night of 6th May, Indian Army had destroyed nine terrorist hideouts, after which Pakistan also tried to target Indian military bases, in which it could not succeed.
