Before the assembly elections in West Bengal, the state government has announced Yuva Sathi Scheme for unemployed youth. Under this scheme, financial assistance will be given every month to the youth who have passed secondary education and are currently unemployed. The government says that the objective of this scheme is to provide temporary support to the youth looking for jobs. In such a situation, let us tell you today what is the Yuva Sathi Scheme of West Bengal and which people get Rs 1500 every month in it?
Who will get the benefit of the scheme?
The benefit of West Bengal’s Yuva Sathi Scheme will be available to those youth who are permanent residents of West Bengal and whose age is between 21 to 40 years. Those youth who have passed secondary education and are unemployed at the time of application will get the benefit of this scheme. However, those who are already employed or taking benefits of some other government welfare schemes will not be included in this scheme. The government has also clarified that the beneficiaries will continue to be eligible for certain scholarships.
How much financial assistance will you get?
Under Yuva Sathi Scheme, Rs 1500 will be directly transferred to the bank account of eligible youth every month. This assistance will be given for a maximum of 5 years i.e. Rs 18,000 in 1 year and total assistance up to Rs 90 thousand in 5 years. Apart from this, this scheme will be reviewed after 5 years, in which if the beneficiary remains unemployed till then and is within the age limit, then a decision will be taken to continue the assistance further.
When will this scheme be implemented?
The state government had earlier talked about implementing this scheme from August, but later it was announced that the scheme will start from April 1, 2026. The application process will be started from February. For this scheme, special camps will be organized in all 294 assembly constituencies of the state. To apply for this scheme, youth will have to register through designated portal or camps. During the application process, verification from mobile number, personal information and bank details will have to be filled. After this, necessary documents like Aadhar card, secondary mark sheet, passport size photo and photocopy of bank passbook will be included. After submitting the form, the condition can also be tracked through the application ID.
