The result of Civil Services Examination of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has been released. 958 candidates have passed the examination. Every year lakhs of students appear for this exam, but only very few candidates get the final selection. When the final merit list of UPSC is released, the candidates ranked above in it usually get services like IAS, IPS or IFS. But many people have this question in their mind that what service does the candidate who ranks last in the final list get and what is his salary.
Actually, selection for service in UPSC is not only based on rank, but also depends on the service preference of the candidate and the number of posts available that year. Therefore, the candidates coming last in the final list also get government service, but usually they are appointed to central services or Group B services.
