The eyes of government employees and officers across the country are now fixed on the 8th Pay Commission. Especially the officers working in the police department want to know how much their salary will increase after the implementation of the new pay commission. In this series, the biggest discussion is regarding the salary of DSP i.e. Deputy Superintendent of Police. It is believed that after the 8th Pay Commission, there may be a big change in the salary of DSP.
Every few years, the government constitutes a pay commission to review the salary, allowances and pension of employees and officers. Till now seven pay commissions have been implemented and now the 8th pay commission is about to come. At present the post of DSP comes in level 9 of the pay matrix. Currently, under the 7th Pay Commission, DSP gets Rs 53,100 as basic pay. Apart from this, they are also given dearness allowance, house rent allowance and other allowances. Taking all this together, the total salary of DSP is considered good, but it is expected to increase further after the 8th Pay Commission.
How much can the salary increase in the 8th Pay Commission?
If media reports and experts are to be believed, the fitment factor can be increased in the 8th Pay Commission. If the fitment factor is fixed around 2.86, then there can be a huge increase in the salary of officers coming in level 9. On this basis, the possible salary of DSP is being estimated.
New basic salary estimate
If the existing basic salary of Rs 53,100 is added to the new fitment factor, then the new basic salary of DSP can reach approximately Rs 1,51,866 per month. This figure may sound surprising, but according to the rules of the Pay Commission, it is considered possible.
Salary will increase further with allowances
The thing to note is that this is only an estimate of basic salary. Apart from this, DSP also gets dearness allowance, house rent allowance, traveling allowance and other government facilities. After adding all these allowances, the total monthly salary of DSP can be even higher. In such a situation, after the 8th Pay Commission, the job of DSP is being considered more attractive. To become a DSP, candidates have to pass the examination of State Public Service Commission or Union Public Service Commission.
