Amitabh Bachchan has shared an old memory in his latest blog post. He told about an incident that happened at the international airport. Amitabh did not take the name of any country, but the actor told that he was invited for the film festival.
Amitabh wrote, ‘When I was in the flight, I noticed that there was a photograph of my film in the newspaper. I could not understand the language. When I asked the air hostess what it was, she said it was a poster of an Indian film. There was a mention on the paper that the actor was coming to his country. But when I landed I was in for a surprise.
Amitabh Bachchan was surrounded by the crowd
Amitabh Bachchan further said, ‘They surrounded me. It was difficult for me to even walk. The crowd was so huge that the police had to remove me from there and bring me out of the airport. He took me straight to the hotel.
Amitabh further told that a senior journalist there had written an article, whose heading had troubled him. Its heading was, ‘Why is so much attention being given to the 3RD rated actor of this 3RD world country.’ Amitabh wrote- There is no problem with personal criticism. 3RD rated actor is accepted. But I did not like calling India a 3RD world country. I felt very sad.
He further wrote, ‘I am saying this clearly again today. U19 Cricket – India, World Champion. Blind, women’s, men’s cricket – all world champions. We are number one. At number one in the world. We are no longer a third world country. We are a first world country.
