After Israel attacked Iran, Tehran targeted American military bases in the Middle East. Regarding this, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had a long phone conversation with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed. Iran fired missiles at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Al Salem Base in Kuwait, Al Dhafra Air Base in UAE, US 5th Fleet Base in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh, Israel’s Haifa and Gali cities.
Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the Israeli attacks on Iran and the subsequent attacks by Tehran on American targets in the Gulf countries. He posted on X and wrote, ‘Pakistan stands completely with Saudi Arabia and our brother Gulf countries in this difficult time. We are ready to play our role in establishing peace and pray that the blessings of Ramadan bring peace and stability to our region.
He said, ‘Spoke to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed. We condemned the tension created in the region by Israel’s attack on Iran and attacks on UAE and other Gulf countries. I deeply condole the tragic death of a Pakistani national in Abu Dhabi. Saudi Arabia has said that Iran carried out a ‘cowardly’ attack in Riyadh and the eastern region, which it foiled.
Due to the continuous deterioration of the situation in the Gulf region after the joint attacks by Israel and America on Iran, the operation of flights to and from the major aviation destination and commercial center Dubai was disrupted on a large scale on Saturday. Many flights across the Gulf region have been disrupted due to the closure of airspace. “As a result of the partial closure of the airspace of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), some flights at DXB and ‘Dubai World Central-Al Maktoum International’ (DWC) have been canceled or delayed,” Dubai Airports said in a statement.
