It is said that while passing through Shivpuri area of Madhya Pradesh, his car suddenly ran out of petrol. There was silence all around, there was no one anywhere and it was already night. In such a situation, he decided to stay there and wait for morning. But they had no idea that this area was notorious for dacoits at that time.
When the robber surrounded Meena Kumari’s car
Suddenly at around 2 o’clock in the night some armed people reached there and surrounded the vehicles. The atmosphere became very tense. At first everyone thought that looting might take place. But as soon as they came to know that the woman sitting in the car was the famous actress Meena Kumari, their attitude changed. The behavior of the bandits suddenly softened and they started treating the entire team with respect.
It is said that the leader of the bandits took Meena Kumari and her team to his hideout and made complete arrangements for their food and rest. The atmosphere of the night which was full of fear gradually changed into a strange one of hospitality. But the most shocking twist of this story was yet to come.

When the morning started and Meena Kumari started leaving from there with her team, then that dacoit chief put a strange demand in front of her. He came with a sharp knife in his hand and said that he was a big fan of his and wanted his autograph on his hand with the knife. Hearing this, Meena Kumari got scared for a moment. The situation was very unusual, but considering the environment, he showed courage and somehow gave the autograph to the robber’s hand with a knife.
Later, when Meena Kumari and her team proceeded from there and reached a safe place, they came to know that the person was not an ordinary dacoit, but Amrit Lal, a notorious dacoit of that time.
