Shreyas Iyer Admitted To ICU: Indian ODI team vice-captain Shreyas Iyer is admitted in a hospital in Sydney. Iyer was injured while taking a catch while fielding in the third ODI, after which he was taken straight to the hospital. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released a health update about Shreyas Iyer. According to information received from BCCI, Iyer’s condition is stable and he is recovering. Now the question arises that when can Shreyas Iyer return to Team India.
When will Shreyas Iyer return?
The Indian cricket team has lost the ODI series against Australia 2-1. Shreyas Iyer was not included in the T20 squad against Australia. In such a situation, they can get complete rest. Team India has to play the next ODI series with South Africa, which will start from November 30. BCCI doctors are keeping an eye on Iyer’s condition, but looking at Shreyas’ current condition, it seems that he may get rest during the South Africa tour.
After the ODI series against South Africa, Team India will play an ODI series with New Zealand, which will start from January 11. From now till January 11, Shreyas Iyer has about 2.5 months time. During this period, Iyer can recover from injury and return to the team once again. There is no statement yet from BCCI regarding when will Iyer be fully fit.
