According to the Times of India, Team India will be announced on 19 August for the Asia Cup. It is being told that only the players will be included in the Asia Cup squad only when the medical and fitness report is ‘OK’. Recently, the speculation of Shubman Gill’s return to the T20 team has been in full swing. It has been claimed that Gill can play in the Asia Cup as vice -captain.

No player’s name has been approved for the Asia Cup so far. Suryakumar Yadav will be seen as captain after hernia surgery. However, the situation is not clear whether Gill will become vice -captain or not. The place of Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Tilak Verma and Hardik Pandya along with captain Suryakumar Yadav also seems confirmed. At the same time, Rinku Singh and Yashasvi Jaiswal can be dropped.
Jasprit Bumrah was last seen playing a T20 match in the 2024 World Cup. According to the reports revealed so far, Bumrah can lead the Indian pace attack in the Asia Cup.
