Lakhs of students who appeared in the All India Sainik School Entrance Examination 2026 are now waiting for their results. This examination was held on 18 January 2026. After the examination, the National Testing Agency had released the provisional answer key. The board had also invited objections from the students. Now, after the objections are settled, the result and final answer key can be released at any time. After the release of the result, students can check their score card online by visiting the official websites exams.nta.nic.in/sainik-school-society and nta.ac.in.

When can the result be released?

According to reports, the results of both classes 6 and 9 are likely to be released in March. The result will be released in the form of scorecard, to download which application number and date of birth will be required. Whereas NDA had released the provisional answer key for classes 6 and 9 on 11 February 2026. Candidates were given a chance to register their objection by paying a fee of Rs 200 per question till 14 February 2026. After reviewing these objections, now the final answer key and result will be released. Apart from this, students will enter their name, roll number, total marks, subject wise performance and qualifying status in Sainik School Result 2026, while the application number and marks of the selected students will be included in the merit list. In such a situation, students will be able to see the result in PDF format from the website of their respective Sainik School.

Basis of merit list and cut off

Merely passing the examination is not enough for admission in Sainik School. Final selection will be based on school wise and category wise merit list. Here separate cut offs can be decided for General, OBC, ST and Defense quota. Whereas the merit will be prepared on the basis of 300 marks for class 6 and 400 marks for class 9. Apart from this, after the declaration of the result, successful candidates will have to register on the All India Sainik School Admission Counseling Portal. Here students will choose the Sainik schools of their choice. Apart from this, schools will be allotted on the basis of rank and available seats, while the first allotment list is likely to be released by the end of March.

Medical test is also necessary for admission

After appearing in the merit list, students will be called for medical test at the designated military hospital. After being found physically fit and document verification, the final admission process will be completed by April-May 2026.
