‘Whenever there is oppression, then there is Jihad’, ruckus over Mahmood Madani’s statement, BJP called it white collar terrorism; Congress said- giving wrong sermon on Islam…

Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind chief Maulana Mahmood Madani gave a controversial statement regarding Jihad and triple talaq, after which politics has heated up across the country. In a program in Bhopal on Saturday (29 November 2025), he said that whenever there is oppression, there will be jihad. During this, he also made controversial comments on the Supreme Court. On this statement of Madani, everyone from BJP to Congress, Shiv Sena and JDU targeted him.

BJP called it white collar terrorism

BJP leader and former Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi alleged that such statements were made with the aim of instigating communal riots in the society. He said, “We have to beware of the conspiracy of these white-collar terror leaders. Such people are neither well-wishers of humanity, nor well-wishers of the country, nor well-wishers of any religion. This statement of theirs reflects their distorted mentality towards the country and its honour. Fear and confusion are being exposed one by one. Your communal conspiracy thinking is completely aimed at creating division and conflict in the society. This kind of violent anarchic thinking will never succeed. It won’t happen.”

Stop giving wrong sermons on Islam: Congress

Congress leader Shama Mohammed said, “I want to ask Maulana Madani what is wrong in the Supreme Court’s decision on triple talaq? It is not even in the Quran Sharif. Please stop preaching wrong Islam to your followers. It is haram.”

No one can disagree with Vande Mataram: JDU

On Maulana Mahmood Madani’s speech in Bhopal, JDU leader Neeraj Kumar said, “Whether it is Vande Mataram or the national anthem, no one can disagree on it. Who can disagree with the national anthem or the national flag? This country belongs to everyone and everyone has played a role in maintaining democracy and achieving independence. No one has come from abroad. The people of this country have played an important role in building educational institutions or society, hence Vande Mataram, Bharat Mata Ji.” Raising slogans of Jai and bowing before the national flag is not a living community or a killing community. It is a sign of the Indian community.”

‘Stop provoking the Muslim community’

Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC said, “Maulana Madani and such so-called contractors of the society always give wrong advice. If the Supreme Court gave its stand on triple talaq for the honor of Muslim women, was it regressive? He said that the word Jihad has been misused, we also agree that the word Jihad has been misused, but why are you provoking the Muslim class? Such contractors of the society should talk thoughtfully. People should not be misled.”
