Food centers have been established in cities like Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ajmer, and Udaipur. Pulses, roti, rice, vegetables and salads are given daily at these centers under different menu. Special sweets and dishes are also confident on festive occasions. This initiative is also getting the support of the government. Apart from this, Annapurna scheme is also being run in Rajasthan.
Atal farmer laborer canteen is also being run in Haryana
The Haryana government started the Atal Kisan Mazdoor canteen in 2020. In this, cheap plate is provided according to the farming season. At the same time, the prices of this canteen vary according to time, such as 10 plates from March to May and September to November get a plate of 20 and 25 rupees in other months. More than 200 people eat food daily in this canteen.
Amma canteen famous in Tamil Nadu
Amma canteen is being run for poor and needy people in Tamil Nadu too. Through this canteen in Tamil Nadu, needy people get breakfast, afternoon and dinner for just 5 rupees. This canteen was started by former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. At the same time, even today, a large number of urban poor food is provided to the urban poor from this canteen.
Indira Canteen of Karnataka
Indira Canteen was started in 2017 in Karnataka. Breakfast is available for 5 rupees through Indira canteen in the state and afternoon and dinner for 10 rupees. About 185 Indira canteen is running in Bangalore district alone of Karnataka, where 1.5 to 2 lakh people eat daily.
Orissa’s diet plan
Diet scheme has been going on in Orissa since 2015. Currently there are 167 diet centers in the state, out of which 82 are made in hospital complexes. Food is provided here from Monday to Saturday. One lakh people take advantage of this scheme daily.
Annapurna canteen of Telangana
The Telangana government launched the Annapurna canteen in 2014. This canteen has started from Hyderabad. At the same time, this scheme has now reached more than 150 canteens across the state. A plate is given here for just 5 rupees. The government runs this scheme in association with Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation and costs it the cost itself.
