There is one most important person in every state of our country, which we call Chief Minister (CM). CM has the responsibility of running the state. The Chief Minister’s job is not only to run the administration, but also takes big decisions for the progress of his state and the team also takes forward in the right direction. For so many responsibilities, they are given fixed salary and allowances. But do you know that CM’s salary is different in every state?
According to the constitution, the salary and allowances of other ministers including the Chief Minister are decided under the law made by the assembly of that state. That is, the Central Government or Parliament does not interfere in it. Because of this, CM’s salary is different in different states. Apart from this, in the salary of CM, not only basic salary, but many types of allowances are also included.

CM of Telangana at the forefront
According to media reports, Telangana Chief Minister K.K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) has the highest salary. His salary is equal to the salary of the President of the country. The reason for this is a law passed by the Telangana Legislative Assembly in 2016, in which the salaries and allowances of the Chief Minister and MLAs were increased a major increase. After this, the salary of Telangana CM became number one in the country. The salary of the CM of Telangana is Rs 4,10,000.
How many salary do CMs of which states get?
The CM of Delhi gets Rs 3,90,000. While in Uttar Pradesh, CM post Rs 3,65,000, Rs 3,40,000 in Maharashtra, Rs 3,35,000 in Andhra Pradesh, Rs 3,21,000 to the Chief Minister of Gujarat, 3,10,000 to the CM of Himachal Pradesh, Rs 2,88,000 to the Chief Minister of Haryana, Rs 2,72,000 to the CM of Jharkhand and Rs 2,55,000 to the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.

Why is there so much difference?
This difference in salary is because the economic status, budget and assembly decisions of every state are different. Some states pay more salaries and allowances to their leaders, while in some states this amount is less.
