Early Symptoms of Kidney Damage: Kidney is one of the most important organs of our body. It not only filters the blood but also removes excess water and waste elements from the body. If the kidney becomes weak over time, its function is affected. Causes like diabetes, obesity, alcohol consumption and high blood pressure are considered to be the causes of chronic kidney disease. But do you know that some of your morning habits can also harm the kidneys. Dr. Venkatasubramaniam, senior urologist from Chennai, has told about 5 such habits. Let us tell you about it.

hold urine in the morning

During sleep, the bladder fills to its full capacity and as soon as you wake up in the morning, the body naturally signals you to urinate. But if you stop it for a long time, it puts pressure not only on the bladder but also on the kidneys. Holding urine for a long time can weaken the bladder muscles. The risk of infection increases and kidney tissue may also get damaged. Doctor’s advice is not to stop urination as soon as you wake up in the morning and even throughout the day.

not drinking water in the morning

Without drinking water the whole night, the body reaches a state of mild dehydration. In such a situation, the kidneys need extra fluid to function properly. If you wake up in the morning and take only tea or coffee instead of water, the body may become more dehydrated due to caffeine. Therefore, the day should be started with at least one glass of water.

taking painkillers on an empty stomach

Many people take painkillers like ibuprofen, aspirin on an empty stomach due to headache or body pain in the morning. According to doctors, frequent use of painkillers reduces blood flow in the kidneys. Due to which the risk of swelling and damage increases. Especially when these are taken on an empty stomach, the chemical stress on the kidneys increases further.

Do not drink water after exercise

Exercising in the morning is good for health. But if you do not drink water after sweating, the risk of dehydration increases. Water and electrolytes are removed from the body through sweat. If not replaced, blood flow to the kidneys reduces. This causes difficulty in filtering the blood and maintaining fluid balance. Not drinking water, especially during summer or excessive workout, can cause serious damage to the kidneys.

skipping breakfast

Many people skip breakfast due to weight loss or busy schedule. But doing this increases the habit of eating high-salt snacks throughout the day. Due to which the amount of sodium in the body increases. Staying on an empty stomach for a long time can disturb the blood sugar level and increase the acid in the body. Both conditions put additional pressure on the kidneys. A balanced and healthy breakfast provides essential nutrition to the kidneys and makes their work easier.
