The Government of India has announced the Padma Awards, one of India’s highest civilian honors, a day before Republic Day. The government has honored some heroes of the country with this award posthumously. These include many people including late actor Dharmendra Deol. In these Padma Awards, 5 people have been awarded Padma Vibhushan, 13 people have been awarded Padma Bhushan and 114 heroes have been awarded Padma Shri.
These personalities received Padma Award posthumously
Dharmendra Deol has posthumously received the Padma Vibhushan Award in the field of arts. Apart from these, VS Achuthanandan has received the Padma Vibhushan Award for social work. Piyush Pandey has received the Padma Bhushan Award posthumously in the field of arts. Shibu Soren has received Padma Bhushan posthumously. VK Malhotra has received Padma Bhushan posthumously for his public service.
Apart from these, Vishwa Bandhu of Bihar for arts, Garimalla Balakrishna Prasad of Andhra Pradesh (posthumously) for arts, Hari Madhab Mukhopadhyay (posthumously) for arts of West Bengal, Kavindra Purkayastha (posthumously) for public affairs of Assam, Rama Reddy Mamidi (posthumously) for animal husbandry – Telangana, Satish Shah (posthumously) for arts. For – Maharashtra, TT Jagannathan (posthumously), for enterprise – Karnataka, Dimir Mestvirishki (posthumously) – for sports – Georgia and Yumnam Jatra Singh (posthumously) – for art – Manipur has been honored with the Padma Shri Award by the government.
