Kolkata Knight Riders team is currently the center of discussion because of Bangladeshi cricketer Mustafizur Rahman. There are two big group owners in Kolkata Knight Riders franchise. 55 percent stake of the team is with Red Chillies Entertainment Group, which is owned by Shahrukh Khan. The remaining 45 percent stake is held by Mehta Group, whose chairman is Jai Mehta, who is the husband of veteran Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla. That’s why many times Juhi Chawla is also seen cheering her team during matches.

KKR is 3 time IPL champion

Kolkata Knight Riders has become IPL champion three times. It won the Indian Premier League title for the first time in the year 2012, where it defeated Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets in the final. After 2 years i.e. in IPL 2014, KKR once again reached the finals, where it faced the challenge of Punjab Kings. This time, Kolkata team defeated Punjab while chasing the target of 200 runs and won the IPL title for the second time.

Kolkata Knight Riders became champion for the third time in 2024. KKR, captained by Shreyas Iyer, had defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets in the final of IPL 2024.
