India Pakistan Ceasefire News: The Indian Army’s DGMO i.e. Director General of Military Operations is the Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai behind the consent on ceasefire with Pakistan. Pakistani DGMO Major General Kasif Abdullah had appealed to General Ghai to stop the attack on the hot-line on Saturday afternoon. The special thing is that it was also the responsibility of making a complete strategy for the attacks against Pakistan by the Indian Army (Army).
In October last year (2024), L. General Ghai held the post of DGMO in the Army Headquarters located in South Block. Earlier, for one and a half years, he has also served as Commanding in Chief (GOC) of Chinar Corps (15th Core) in Srinagar. In such a situation, the LoC i.e. the Line of Control and Kashmir Valley takes two hands with terrorists. General Ghai has a special experience.
DGMO of five Terror Camp did the listing
The DGMO is considered to be the right hand of the army chief regarding the operations of the Army. During Operation Sindoor, the five Terror camps of terrorist organizations Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen in Pakistan’s illegal occupied Kashmir (PoK) were destroyed by the DGMO with the commander of the Chinar Corps.

In 2021, the ceasefire agreement to maintain peace and stability on the LoC was also signed by the DGMOs of both countries. The special thing is that every Tuesday, DGMOs of both countries talk on hot-line. However, during the peace period, the DGMOs of both countries have also been talking on the phone.
DGMO of both countries will talk on May 12
Take even after the Pahalgam attack. General Ghai spoke to Pakistani counterpart Major General Kasif over the phone. On Saturday, when Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced the consent on the ceasefire, it was also sometime that on May 12, he will once again talk on the DGMO phones of both countries. During this time, after 5 pm on Saturday evening, we will review the circumstances between the two.
The special thing is that DGMO in India is an officer of a three-star Lt Gen Rank, while two-star i.e. Major General rank in Pakistan. This is because the Indian Army is a big army, while the Pakistani Army is slightly small.
