People often compare the tenure of the country’s current Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former PM Indira Gandhi. India Today-C Voter’s ‘Mood of the Nation’ (MOTN) has conducted a survey regarding this. In the survey, 50 percent people have described Narendra Modi as the best Prime Minister of the country so far. At the same time, 12-12 percent people have said that Indira Gandhi and Atal Bihari Vajpayee are the best PM till date.
What percentage of people said Nehru was better?
In C-Voter’s survey, 11 percent people said Dr. Manmohan Singh was the best PM while 6 percent people called Jawaharlal Nehru the best PM. In this, 55 percent people have described Narendra Modi as the right candidate for PM at present. Whereas 27 percent people have expressed confidence in Rahul Gandhi as the current PM.
After the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, an atmosphere of change started developing in the country’s politics. The biggest reason for this was the poor performance of BJP in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. When the duo of Akhilesh and Rahul Gandhi defeated BJP in UP, it seemed that politics could change in a few days, but then BJP made a strong comeback.
BJP regained the ground lost in Lok Sabha elections
After the Lok Sabha elections, the eyes of the entire country were on the Maharashtra Assembly elections, where the position of BJP was not good. However, the BJP-led grand alliance again unified the organization at the grassroots level and performed so well in the assembly elections that the opposition was nowhere to be seen. In this election, BJP got 132 seats, Shiv Sena (Shinde) 57, NCP 41 seats.
Last year, after Operation Sindoor, US President Donald Trump gave himself credit for the ceasefire with Pakistan. However, India has said many times in different forums that America had no role in the ceasefire. After the US President’s claim, Congress attacked PM Modi and started comparing him with Indira Gandhi against Pakistan.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had said, ‘Indira Gandhi was a woman, but she had more strength than this man (Narendra Modi). Narendra Modi is coward. In 1971, Indira Gandhi was not afraid of America, did not bow down to them. If Narendra Modi has the guts then he can say that Trump did not stop Operation Sindoor.
