Unni Mukundan was born on 22 September 1987 in Thrissur, Kerala. He graduated in English Literature and Journalism from Prajyoti Niketan College, Pudukad.

Unni started her acting career in the year 2011 with the Tamil film Cayan, in which Dhanush was also seen. The film was a remake of the 2002 Malayalam film Nandanam.

Unni later stepped into Telugu cinema. He made Tollywood debut with Janata Garage, which was one of the highest -grossing films of 2016. After this he appeared in the film Bhagmati alongside Anushka Shetty, who also achieved good success.

The 2022 film Malikapuram established Unni as a strong lead star in Malayalam cinema and he was highly appreciated.

The year 2024 was very special for Unni’s career, when he played the lead role in the Violent Action Thriller film Marco. This Malayalam film by Hanif Adani was counted among the most violant films in India. Although Later Unni distanced away from its sequel, Cube Entertainments announced to pursue its universe. The film earned more than Rs 100 crore at the box office.

Unni himself said in an interview that Marco was one of the best films of my career. The film achieved such a huge success not with my identity but because of its quality and story.

Now Unni is going to be seen in a new character. He will play the main role in mother Vande, a biopic based on the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
