Amidst the ongoing tension over the new rules of the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Supreme Court of the country may have put a stay on the new rules of the UGC, but political rhetoric continues on this matter. Meanwhile, former minister of Uttar Pradesh government and national president of his Janata Party, Swami Prasad Maurya has given a big statement regarding UGC.
Former minister Swami Prasad Maurya wrote in his Some such so-called upper castes are opposing the UGC Parity Committee Act 2026.”
‘Look carefully at the faces of those who oppose UGC’
Former minister and national president of his Janata Party, Swami Prasad Maurya further said, “Look carefully at the faces opposing the UGC, these are the same faces to whose forefathers you have been giving donations, donations, offerings and feeding them sweets and pudding in the name of religion.”
‘Stop giving donations and your arrogance will go away’
Former minister Swami Prasad Maurya also said that “There is an appeal to the SC/ST/OBC brothers that they should stop feeding goods, pua halwa and donations to people with such dirty mentality, their arrogance will automatically go away and they will also forget to oppose the UGC.”
Swami Prasad Maurya targeted BJP
Taking aim at the BJP, Swami Prasad Maurya said, “In the name of the UGC Regulation Act brought to stop discrimination in universities and higher educational institutions, the BJP government once again succeeded in throwing dust in the eyes of the people of SC/ST/OBC community.”
He said that “BJP’s policy was to “Tell the thief to steal” and “Tell the public to stay awake”. On the same lines, on the one hand, the UGC was pretending to please the SC/ST/OBC through the Equality Act, while on the other hand, it was getting the upper castes to oppose it, which was expected. The same thing happened by filing a petition in the Supreme Court at the behest of the government and ultimately got the implementation of the UGC Regulation Act stopped.”
He also said, “While SC/ST/OBC are happy with the enactment of the law, the golden castes are also happy with the stay on the judiciary. This is called a chess move, even the snake died, not even the stick broke. Beware of BJP’s deception.”
