Congress has suffered a massive defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections (2025). The party contested on 61 seats and could win only six. Now the party is busy reviewing this matter. Last Thursday (November 27, 2025), Congress held a review meeting at Indira Bhawan, the party headquarters in Delhi. There was uproar during this review meeting. There was an altercation between engineer Sanjeev Singh, the Congress candidate from Vaishali, and Jitendra Kumar, the party’s candidate from Purnia. Sanjeev Singh had threatened to shoot Jitendra Kumar. Now Jitendra Kumar has told the whole story regarding this.

Jitendra Kumar said that Engineer Sanjeev Singh threatened out of frustration. Due to friendly fight, he got very less votes. On this question whether you were also abused? On this he said that when there is talk of shooting then where is the question of abuses.

‘We are not afraid of threats’

On Sanjeev Singh’s threat, Jitendra Kumar said, “He has said about all the people, whether it is the central leadership or the state leadership… If you talk about the leadership of the party you are in, then it is definitely not a forgivable thing. We will not lodge any FIR. We are not afraid of threats. See many people like him. People with a lot of money have come and gone.”

Jitendra Kumar said that it is a matter of party discipline. The committee will look into it. The party leadership has been informed about this. If the votes are less then one should not be so disappointed. He (Sanjeev Singh) stood third or fourth in the elections. If seen, he had accused all the people of the Grand Alliance.

Congress leader Tariq Anwar said that nothing happened during the review meeting. Was left out of the review meeting. If there is a personal fight or dispute, then why should we include it in our discussion?
