Many Bollywood stars are trying to establish their foothold in the South Film Industry. From Saif Ali Khan to Bobby Deol and Jhanvi Kapoor tried their luck in Bollywood as well as South films. But Sunil Shetty is not interested in working in South films. The actor himself has revealed this and said that he rejects offers from South films.
In a recent interview given to The Lallantop, Sunil Shetty told that he is offered negative roles in South films. But they reject. Sunil Shetty said- I get offers (from South Film Industry), but unfortunately, you will see that we get offers only for negative roles. He wants to make Hindi heroes powerful, but from the perspective of a villain. This is good for the screen and the audience. But this is the only thing I don’t like.
What did the actor say about his only South film?
Although Sunil Shetty has previously worked in a South film. The actor played a negative role in Rajinikanth’s action thriller film ‘Darbar’. This film was released in 2020 which also starred Nayanthara. In such a situation, Sunil Shetty also told the reason for working in the court. He revealed that he did this film only because of Rajinikanth. Sunil said- ‘I had done a film with Rajini sir, that too only because I wanted to get a chance to work with him.’
Sunil Shetty’s workfront
On the work front, Sunil Shetty was last seen in the films ‘Kesari Veer’ and ‘Nadaaniyaan’. Now he has Priyadarshan’s comedy film ‘Hera Pheri 3’ in the pipeline which can be released next year. Apart from this, the actor will also be seen in ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. Many actors including Akshay Kumar, Raveena Tandon and Paresh Rawal will be playing important roles in this film.
