Rani Mukherjee is one of the few actresses who has got the opportunity to work with the three Khans of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan. All three superstars have turned 60 this year and with this the discussion about their film journey has become even more intense.
Recently, while talking to Galatta Plus, Rani Mukherjee recalled her work with the three Khans and told that as soon as the camera is on, the style of Shahrukh, Aamir and Salman becomes completely different. Let us tell you, Rani Mukherjee first worked with Aamir Khan in the 1998 film ‘Ghulam’. He told that at that time it was like a dream for him.
What did Rani say about Aamir?
Rani said that in her childhood she had seen Aamir in ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ and also had a crush on him. When she got the opportunity to sign ‘Ghulam’, she could not believe that she was going to work with such a big star. He also told that Aamir’s way of working inspired him the most. Rani learned from him in her early days itself his hard work, seriousness and complete immersion in the character for every scene.
After Aamir, Rani Mukherjee worked with Shahrukh Khan in films like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and ‘Chalte Chalte’. Rani told that she had also seen Shahrukh in ‘DDLJ’ in her childhood, which was released in 1995. In the same year she was shooting her first film ‘Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat’. Rani said that working with big stars like Aamir and Shahrukh was like a dream for her. What he remembered most while working with Shahrukh was his warmth and nature.
Why does Shahrukh call Rani ‘baby’?
Rani Mukherjee said about Shahrukh Khan that the experience of working with him was very special. He told, ‘There is a soft corner inside Shahrukh. When I worked with him, I was only 18 years old. He treated me like a child and even today he calls me ‘Baby’. Like Aamir, Shahrukh also focuses on giving his best to every shot. Both of them were like teachers for me on the set.
Said this about Salman Khan
His experience with Salman Khan was completely different. Rani said, ‘Meeting Salman was a complete 360 degree turn for me. Their way of working is different. He comes to the set with swag and cool style. Sometimes it seems that he is not completely present, but in reality he is completely at work.
Rani further said that Salman is so handsome that as soon as he comes on the set, everyone’s eyes are fixed on him. He looks casual at work, but works very hard. People are not able to understand this because they do not show their hard work. He discusses every scene and keeps trying something new.
Finally, Rani said about the three Khans, Shahrukh, Aamir and Salman, all three are legends in their own ways. The style of working is different, but at heart all three are equally passionate and loving. I love all three equally and all three are very close to my heart.
